Workshop at Rikkyo University, Tokyo

The interdisciplinary research project on the concept of Pacificism aims at a critical reconstruction of the Pacific as a space of hybridity and of resistance against imperial power and cultural hegemony. Participants of the workshop will look at the Pacific Ocean not as a barrier that separates islands from each other, but rather as a geo-historical unit for cultural exchange.
